Director of Marketing

We are looking for a charismatic, growth minded, out of the box thinking leader to join the Frontdesk team. You will oversee and drive all activities related to marketing and demand generation in the business. You will be responsible for creating marketing strategies that will build the business’s brand, lead to increased revenue, awareness, brand equity, and relevance among Frontdesk’s target audiences.  You will be able to execute based on your range of talents that includes grass roots marketing and today’s digital savviness.
This is a unique opportunity to manage a category-leading brand startup with strong traction alongside a very experienced and dynamic leadership team reporting directly into the CPO. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and leading B2C and B2B marketing strategies with a particular focus on digital in Hospitality, Hotels, Short term Rental, and/or Multi-Family Housing.
The Director of Marketing will be a senior leader in charge of setting Frontdesk’s marketing strategy, managing the marketing department and our strategic partners in working closely with the CPO to drive demand growth, partnership growth and brand equity.   • Develop strategic marketing and communications plans aligned with company objectives 
  • Develop and manage company branding and messaging for all customer segments 
  • Define the company message in a communication strategy; ensure consistency and positioning across strategic and tactical elements of all marketing and sales programs 
  • Direct all marketing initiatives to support sales of current and new products 
  • Sources analyze and interpret market research data, product and customer trends 
  • Strong focus on social media engagement will be important and a must, along with measurement of growth through analytics on consumer and revenue segments
  • Oversee branding initiatives, including website design, marketing campaigns, social media channels, etc. 
  • Manage all functions associated with marketing, including internal and external marketing publications, product catalog, sales trainings, customer presentation materials, etc. 
  • Seeks out and create new marketing strategies that engage customers and challenge the status quo 
  • Manage external partnerships and agencies when appropriate
  • Develop and execute inbound marketing and lead generation strategies 
  • Drive demand through Marketing lead generation campaigns in tandem with the CPO 
  • Maintain customer database by identifying and assembling marketing initiative information 
  • Identify customer current and future needs, monitor competitive company messaging, short- and long-term industry trends 
  • Oversees public relations strategies, including pitching and promoting the company and management as subject matter experts and managing crises 
  • Maintain strong understating of customer needs by organizing and developing specific customer- relations programs and determining company presence at conventions, trade associations collaborations and seminars. 
  • Responsible for SEO and SEM, including company website, lead generation engine, marketing automation platforms, etc. 
  • Participate in training as required; and provide professional development opportunities for staff 
  • Coordination of Digital execution – Translate digital trends and strategies into tangible plans and initiatives leveraging full range of channels (website and landing pages, digital advertising, search engine optimization, email marketing, social media, digital campaigns and other digital media alternatives). 
  • Partnership with Digital Channels – Act as an integral part of our Digital Channels business development efforts to supplement the evolution of our on line, mobile and virtual channel capabilities with respective digital marketing approach, resources and OTA optimization.
  • Creation of digital impact - Demonstrate measurable value to the organization through consistent tracking and reporting of digital goals and metrics via identified KPIs in the categories of brand awareness, traffic and engagement, customer acquisition and deepening of relationships, and brand advocacy.
  • Team Development - Lead and develop a team of entry, and/or junior level digital marketing and social media specialists. Translate the organization’s talent philosophy into development and cross-organizational career opportunities for all team members.
  • Develops and maintain the department’s budget, track impact of promotional decisions (ROI), and advise on appropriate allocation of resources for maximum impact 
  • Manages all conference participation and associated literature, brochures, videos, and photography to support sales and business development initiatives 
  • Collaborate effectively with key internal partners, specifically Operations/IT, Legal/Compliance and the other Marketing support functions and/or partners
  • Develops and report on critical metrics that demonstrate marketing strategy performance 
  • Performs spokesperson duties as required 
  • Identify department resource needs and communicate to the CPO
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related degree; MBA preferred 
  • Strong sense of urgency, we’re a growing company
  • 4+ years of strategic marketing experience; experience in hospitality and/or short-term rental industry preferred 
  • 3+ years of leadership experience required 
  • Experience managing a team 
  • Advertising and market research experience a plus 
  • Experience controlling and coordinating concurrent projects, competing priorities and critical deadlines 
  • Experience presenting to senior management or C-suite with the purpose of influencing company or client decisions 
  • Experience presenting to sales with the purpose of exciting and motivating action 
  • Experience designing, creating and leading integrated marketing campaigns 
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) 
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)
